Ramita Jindal misses out on medal in shooting
Ramita Jindal finished seventh in the women’s 10m air rifle shooting event at the Paris Olympics on Monday.
The 20-year-old Ramita scored a total of 145.3 points. She was at one time fourth among eight women. But she did not succeed in maintaining her rhythm.
Ramita scored 145.3 points. The gold medal went to Korea’s Ban Yujin, China’s Huang Yuting won the silver and Switzerland’s Audrey Gog Niyat won the bronze. Hyojun 251.8, Huang Yuting 251.8 and Gog Niyat 230.3 points
In the qualification round on Sunday, Ramita qualified for the final by finishing fifth with 631.5 points in Paris Olympics
In the shoot-off in stage 2 of the final round, Ramita recorded a score of 10.5, while her French opponent Osain recorded a score of 10.8.
India is hoping for another medal when Arjun Babuta will participate in the men’s 10m air rifle final, which is expected to further increase the medal tally of India in this sport.
Manu Bhasker won the bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event on Sunday.
