Paris Olympics: India and Argentina draw 1-1, Harmanpreet scored in the last minute
The Indian hockey team ended the match with the Argentina team 1-1 in their second match of the Paris Olympics. In this match of Men’s Hockey Pool B, captain Harmanpreet scored an equalizing goal for the Indian team trailing by 58 minutes in the match.
In this match, the ball was more in the possession of India and the team also got 10 penalty corners, but the team could convert it into a goal only once. However, the New Zealand team could not score any goal on four penalty corners.
Goal less first quarter
The first quarter in this match ended without any goal. After this, Argentina got the first goal in the second quarter. The goal by Lucas Martinez in the 30th minute was unexpected for India, as the ball went very close to India goalkeeper Shreejesh and went into the goal post. Although Shreejesh tried well, he missed the goal.
When India were in danger of losing the match, captain Harmanpreet scored the much-awaited penalty corner with just 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
In this way, India succeeded in drawing the match after being 58 minutes behind. This was the second draw between India and Argentina. The Indian hockey team has not lost any match in the Paris Olympics so far. India had earlier defeated New Zealand 3-2 in their first match of the Paris Olympics. The Indian hockey team’s next match will be against Ireland on July 30.
