The Indian women’s cricket team is gearing up for an ODI series against New Zealand while the men’s team faces the same nation in a Test series. Recently, the Indian women’s team announced its squad for the upcoming matches, revealing a surprising update: explosive batsman Richa Ghosh will miss the series due to her 12th-grade exams.

Who is Richa Ghosh?

21 years old, Richa Ghosh is one of the promising young talents in the Indian women’s team. She has made a significant impact in international cricket, showcasing her prowess against various opponents. Richa recently participated in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, but unfortunately, her exams will prevent her from joining the squad for the ODI series against New Zealand, as confirmed by the ICC on their official website. The series is set to begin on October 27.

Career Highlights of Richa Ghosh

Richa made her Test debut in December of last year and debuted in T20s in 2020, followed by her ODI debut in 2021. So far, she has played two Test matches, scoring 151 runs, including two fifties. Known for her explosive batting in ODIs and T20s, Richa has amassed 481 runs in 23 ODIs with three fifties to her name, and in T20s, she has scored 879 runs in 59 matches.
