Team India’s veteran cricketer angry at Rohit-Kohli, raised demand for their ouster

The first match of the two-Test series between India and Bangladesh (IND vs BAN) is being held in Chennai, where Team India successfully scored 376 runs in their first innings.

Former Player Criticizes Rohit and Kohli

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were dismissed cheaply in the first innings against Bangladesh. Following this, former Team India player and current commentator Sanjay Manjrekar expressed his disappointment, stating, “Rohit Sharma faced a few deliveries, leading everyone to feel that the first hour, or perhaps the entire session, would be challenging. Rohit needed to get his work done and was doing what he does best, taking his time. However, two well-pitched deliveries troubled him.

Manjrekar on the Duleep Trophy

Manjrekar also referenced the Duleep Trophy, saying, “A few weeks ago, I mentioned that considering the number of international matches Rohit and Kohli have played over the last five years, they could have been selected for the Duleep Trophy. I’m confident that the time spent there would have been beneficial, at least in this first innings. We’ve discussed Kohli’s shortcomings repeatedly, and he fell in the same manner this match. Both players struggled under tough conditions.”

Both Players Dismissed for Just 6 Runs in IND vs BAN Test

In IND vs BAN Test, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first. Opening batsman Rohit Sharma managed just 6 runs before getting caught in the slips. Similarly, Virat Kohli, returning to the Test team, also scored 6 runs before heading back to the pavilion.
