PAK VS ENG: England Trail By 127 Runs At The End Of 2nd Test Day 2, Despite The Rapid Ton Of Ben Duckett

Sajid Khan was the top performer for Pakistan at the end of 3rd session of Day 2’s play. He took 4 wickets in his 19 overs of spell on the day. With this performance of the off-spinner Pakistan will be high on confidence coming to Day 3. England slipped from 211/2 to 225/6 in less than three overs. However, Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse stepped up to ensure no further damage ending the day at 239/6 with England still trailing by 127 runs.

In the response of Pakistan’s 366 on this pitch, the English left-hander Ben Duckett started to take the charge and wanted to replicate the same as his team had done in the last Test last week. He took just 120 balls to reach his fourth Test hundred and kept the run-rate in check of roughly five per over.

England was on high until Sajid came into the party

Earlier, in a thrilling start to Day 2, England quickly dismissed both the batters to take the immediate control over the match. But Pakistan was in a different mood and their batters too, Aamer Jamal and Noman Ali stepped up with a strong partnership of unbeaten 49-run stand. The partnership came to an end with the wicket of Aamer Jamal who bowled by Brydon Carse. Pakistan bowled out for 366 with Jack Leach taking four wickets.

The visitors reached 88 runs in just 17 overs by Tea with the casualty of Zak Crawley’s wicket in the mid session. Crawley edged an away-turning delivery from Noman that ended a 73-run opening stand.

Sajid Khan’s off breaks pulled Pakistan back into the contest

Sajid Khan found a turn in the final session and struck in his very first over of the new spell and dismissed Ollie Pope. Both Duckett and Joe Root were looking quite comfortable but the narrative of course changed within the span of an hour when Pakistan’s captain Shan Masood reintroduced Sajid in the third session.

The off-spinner then tore through England’s middle order, and with the help of Noman Ali they heavily damaged the visitors to bring Pakistan right back into the game, and perhaps put them in the driving seat at this moment!
