CSK defeated MI by 20 runs, Rohit century vent in vain
Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings the El-Classico of Indian premier league is comfortably won by defending champions, Battle between two Indian legends Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni at legendary Wankhede stadium has satisfied both the fans despite the loss MI fans Shaw the beast Rohit Sharma scoring another IPL hundred and CSK fans were busy celebrating MS Dhoni 3 sixes against Hardik Pandeya in the 20th over and that at the end became the difference as CSK won the match by 20 runs.
Ruturaj and Shivam Dube for CSK
The six hitting machine Shivam Dube is destroying bowlers at his will scoring sixes like kids used to score at gully cricket he scored 66 runs of just 38 balls. Dube is slowly climbing for that orange cap, usually the orange cap holder is from top order batsman, but Dube is in top notch form scoring runs in every match with around 170 strike rate and hitting sixes just for fun. There used to be a time when Dube did not play fast bowlers well but in clash against MI he showed that he can play the world’s best bowler Burmah with ease.
Ruturaj Gaikwad the skipper for CSK was suffering to get big scores but what better than a CSK vs MI game to get back in form, he played brilliantly and scored 69 of just 40 balls hitting 5 fours and 5 sixes allowing CSK to gain momentum after they got stuck in the first 3 overs. both Dube and Ruturaj took responsibility and set the stage for the big hitter to go big.
MS Dhoni (The Man, The Myth, The Mahi)
every single time when CSK fan walks into the stadium he just wants to see MS Dhoni bat at any cost and this time the cost was Dary Mitchell wicket in 20th over and then THALA entered the arena. Mahi went to bat against Hardik Pandeya, and he smashed 3 sixes back-to-back and then scored a brace 20 runs in 4 balls at a strike rate of 500 half the match was won their itself for CSK fans.
Scorecard After First CSK Innings
Chennai super kings – 206/4
Ruturaj Gaikwad – 69 runs 40 balls
Shivam Dube – 66 runs 38 balls
Jasprit Burmah – 4 overs 27 runs 2 wickets
MI got to a flying start.
In such a big run chase opening stand is crucial and Rohit and Ishan gave them the start Mumbai wanted. they both dominated the powerplay and at one point of time it looked like Chennai super kings are completely out of the match but then came the SriLankan slinging acting Pathirana and took 2 wickets in single over and changed the course of the game.
Magical over from Pathirana
after 7 overs mark MI were comfortably 70 for no loss and then came Matisha Pathirana and he took away Ishan Kishan on the first ball and Surya Kumar Yadav on the 3rd ball and completely change the match Mumbai lost the momentum from that over and never came back in the match.
Rohit Sharma the lone worrier for MI
Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century but could not put it to a winning cause due to lack of support at the other end tilak tried to be the supporting partner but fell shortly and that’s why even after scoring half the runs of the total, MI only managed a defeat by 20 runs from their archrivals Chennai super kings.
